PACGDC Announces New Board Members

Palo Alto County Gaming and Development Corporation announced two new board members at its July 17th meeting. Glen Simonson from Mallard and Brian Bormann from West Bend were approved to join the volunteer non-profit board that holds the license and distributes the grant dollars from Wild Rose Casino in Emmetsburg.

“We were impressed with the numerous individuals so involved in local communities that completed the application and took time to come in and interview with us,” according to Renee Jedlicka, chair of PACGDC. “We learned from all our board candidates.” She continued saying Glen and Brian stood out due to their community involvement with the gaming grant process and years of attendance at the awards’ ceremonies. “We know Brian and Glen will help us build a stronger board to serve the needs of Palo Alto County,” explained Jedlicka.

PACGDC also discussed the two board seats that will be open in 2017. The terms of long time board members, Lloyd Peterson from Graettinger and Norlyn Stowell from Emmetsburg, will expire in early 2017. Jedlicka appointed a nominating committee to begin the process of locating successors. Residents of Emmetsburg and Graettinger or surrounding areas with interest in serving were urged to apply through the PACGDC website at www.paloaltogaming.org.
